Journey to the Blood Stained Home 3304130387_1f3c41d5ab

Autumn has fallen upon the land and with it, means that the wolves that reside within the pack must make a journey to another den site. Where they will remain until winters chilly grasp has passed by and new life comes upon the territory as spring makes its arrival known. During the journey, the strength of friendships will be tested as the pack sets off together on a dark path towards a land where blood has been shed and the place where it all started for the Banishing Winds Pack.

Journey to the Blood Stained Home Empty Re: Journey to the Blood Stained Home

Post by Rune April 17th 2011, 6:57 pm

Rune’s head jerked up as he woke from a terrifying nightmare that sent him into a dreadful state of fear as his eyes searched the area around him covered in total darkness. Within his dream, a wolf towered above him with dripping crimson fangs and a piercing stare. In an attempt to appease this sadistic creature, Rune glued himself onto the ground his body cowering in submission. However, this act appeared to have no luck for the crazed wolf still towered above him, but this time he was laughing hysterically. “Did you honestly think I would let you abandoned me my dear brother?” The words came from the figure, but even so, Rune found himself confused by his words.

It was not until he felt the sting of pain surge through his body that he realized this creature was his brother Race and the dripping liquid like matter from his fangs was in fact Runes own blood. With a quick glance to his left, he noticed a tear within his shoulder as the stained fur parted away from the oozing wound. “What are you speaking about Race; you know I would never leave your side purposely.” He replied weakly as his body shook in fear and his eyes held a pleading look within them.

“You lie!!” Were the last words he heard before Race lunged for his neck giving the final blow, and Rune awoke from his dream world. “Why? Why am I remembering this now? T-this memory was supposed to be suppressed to the deepest part of my mind…I-I don’t understand the meaning behind this...” His words were frantic and louder then he probably would have liked, but at that moment nothing else seemed to enter his mind and the last thing he was worried about were the others sleeping.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, so this is not exactly were we left off from the pack lands, but we will pretend this is a bit after. The meeting with Kira, Derek, Karma, Soran, and Mai Mai. We will say was to tell you guys that we will be moving den sites. If this made no sense then let me know and I will try to clear it up the best I can...XD

“Why? Why am I remembering this now? T-this memory was supposed to be
suppressed to the deepest part of my mind…I-I don’t understand the
meaning behind this...”

Silver's ears perked, and her head shot up from her once peacful slumber. It wasn't until a few moments after the eerie speech until she realized it was Rune who has said it. She looked up, the moon was full and directly above them, lighting the night. Concerned, she stood and trotted out of the forest and into the den site. Her shadowed, grey and white coat stood out in an odd comparison to the darkness, like a ghost.

"Rune?" She said, her head and chest appearing from the darkness, and her coat giving a dim glow. The glow was what she had derived her name from, it tended to look best in moonlight, and as she had aged it turned from white in that scenery to a dim silver and white. "Everything all right? "

“Stay back!” Rune snarled loudly as he jumped onto his feet clumsily and disordered. “I’m perfectly fine!” He called out although his words were obviously a lie as they were filled with a sense of apprehension. Like within his dream Runes body was trembling and all signs of his normal highly held composure were now gone.

Silver jumped as Rune snarled and jumped up, stumbling back a few steps. Hurt slightly, she had never seen him act in that manner except for a few times, and it was obvious by his reaction he was not fine. Her ears pinned, and her eyes glazed with fear. Confused, she simply stared at him, now she was entirely in the shadows again. She resisted the urge to speak, and simply waited there, not moving or speaking but just being there.

Selene's amber eyes flashed open as she woke to the darkness of night. She glanced around her, slowly raising her head from where it was rested on her paws. The moonlight flickered through the branches of the trees above her as it raced to touch the ground, giving life to the shadows around her. The trees themselves seem to take on a new life in the darkness. The dying leaves rustled as an autumn breeze blew through them. Selene shivered, the breeze was not very welcoming and it was a clear warning of the winter ahead. She yawned, rising to her paws to stretch. She didn't remember when she had fallen asleep under the oak but she wanted to get back to the densite. While the searching moonlight was stunning the shadows seemed to be moving and she felt an unseen enemy's presence at the sound of every rustling bush. I need to get back. She thought dully.

The she-wolf shook a few leaves from her pelt before padding along through the trees towards the den. The night was her time to prowl. Her deep chestnut fur helped her blend in with the ground making her seem like a shadowy beast lurking in the dark. Though her small size didn't help her look too fierce just her appearance could freak even the bravest of wolves. Coming closer to the den she smiled in relief, warmth. The she-wolf stopped in the entrance, seeing Silver in front of her. The moonlight shown in from behind her, giving Selene an outer glow yet shadowing her figure. A shadowy beast nonetheless. She spoke softly. "What's going on?"

Soran awoke with a start as Rune snapped at Silver. Immediately, he sprang to his paws, hackles raised prepared to fight before taking in the situation. Though the alpha male attempted to regain control, it was easily noticeable that he wasn't in his state of normal composure. Shaking his head the male sat himself in the grass only a few feet away from his brother, thoroughly tempted to ask him the question that he felt was most important. A crowd would only create more tension then was really necessary.

Crimzen walked silently through the cool plains, the frost wind pulled his fur in many different directions. Forcing strands to curve and twist in many angles, the male shook his head feeling the wind flow into his ears. His head was high, his Crimson eyes clouded with uncomfortable, because of the cold breeze he took shelter in the forest, in hopes that the tree trucks would shelter him for the cold, wind. Crimzen's head dropped half way, his plan only half worked, the bark from the trees did shield him form most of the wind. However, some managed to pass through, now he was lost, deep within the dark forest. Crows seemed to haunt him, stand firmly on the tree's broken, and scarred branches 'ka-cawing' startling Crimzen.

Silver flinched as Soran too jumped up, it wasn't that hostile but still enough to make her feel bad. What had he thought she was doing? Why did Rune snap at her like that? The female had rarely shown that she was rather sensitive, but at the time it was obvious. Her ears were pinned, and her expression was solemn, even sad. Her tail hung limply behind her. She heard another wolf say something behind her, but it didn't matter, she didn't care. She let out a slow breath, and then murmured quietly yet loud enough for them all to hear.

"Sorry, I was only concerned since it seemed you were troubled. I'll leave you now. " She said, turning and walking back into the forest. She stopped once she couldn't see the den or them, sure they could not see her in return, and collapsed under a low, young pine tree. She then heard paw steps, they were scattered noises, a cure sign whomever was making them was unsure of where to move. Staying in place, a male wolf walked past her, and she stood and came up from behind him.

"Lost?"

Falco had dropped behind a little in their travels, the hunter hadnt been feeling well since thy entered this darn forest. Following the scents of the pack he soon picked up that they were getting stronger. He was right, the muffled sounds of Rune and Silver's voices echoed by a snarl. Picking up the pace the hunter soon caught up with his pack and wondered what had occurred few moments earlier. He looked between Silver, Soran and Rune and saw that there was definitely something wrong with Rune, he was trembling. Silently the hunter sat watching his pack mates, wondering what was to unfold.

Selene watched the scene unfold before her. No one seemed to react to her presence, as if she had become one of the shadows herself. The chestnut she-wolf gave a wary look at Soran before looking at Rune, her amber eyes flashing in concern. She remained silent though, she wasn't sure what to say or if anything she could say would be of help. She stood back, remaining in the shadows. Maybe if she stood in them long enough she would just melt into them and all her worries and concerns could disappear. She stared at the ground silently.

Crimzen spun around, his fangs shown and fur raised to it's highest peaks. He nearly sunk his canine's into the wolf before him. His ears llowered sideways, seeing the female meant no harm, he stepped a few feet back, and started at the sea of orange & red leaves. Some spun around in a small circle, still caught up in his actions before.

"Sorry.." He said, lowering his tail a bit. He looked up, seeing a small hint of sorrow in her eyes.

"I'm not lost!" He said, answering her question. She had been the only wolf, he met this dark forest. Perhaps he could find comfort, in her company. He glanced at the small crows.

"I was just.. uh..looking around!" He said, somewhat swallowing his fear.

"What about you?" He asked, trying to get his mind off the spooky surroundings.

Soran's ears flickered as he felt the presence of Falco and Selene beside the small group, though he could only make out their silhouettes in the darkness. He rose quickly and padded to where the scout was standing in the shadows and came up beside her. "I believe it was nothing more then a nightmare." He whispered, a reassuring look crossing his face; although by Rune's reaction to Silver, it must've been much more then that. There was not much he could explain except for what he had witnessed.

Silver leaped back in a blur as he tried to bite her, landing in a defensive position and baring her teeth as well. Her former position as a guard showed, and she growled low before he apoligized. She then composed herself, glaring at him apprehensively. Her expression before was sad, but now it was even more so, her green eyes dulled.

"Oh, I'm the Banishing Winds punching bag, apparently. " She grumbled quietly. " And, yes, you are lost. Not many normal wolves come wandering into a pack territory without knowing it. "

Selene turned to look at Soran as he approached her small hiding place within the shadows. She sat down slowly as she listened to him speak.

"I believe it was nothing more then a nightmare." He whispered, a reassuring look crossing his face; although by Rune's reaction to Silver, it must've been much more then that.

Selene nodded slowly. Nightmare or not something had spooked the alpha. "Perhaps. I've had a few bad ones myself." She felt a chill run down her spine as she recalled waking up moments ago in the darkness outside. Something about the forest right then gave her the creeps.

Crimzen twitched his ears, they flew up a bit standing straight on his head. He turned his head behind him, hearing the low mummer of some wolves talking. He turned his head around back towards the female, he tilted his head a bit towards the side hearing her mumble something under her breathe. He thought for a moment, a confident smile showed up on his face.

"I'm not lost!" He huffed, and turned, "I know EXACTLY where I'm going." Crimzen stated, nearly tripping over a fallen log.

"Woops.." He blushed in embarrassment.

"I can see that!" Silver said, smiling slightly. Her eyes brightened a little in humor. She resisted the urge to sit, she was tired from walking, they had only just begun the trip but the female lacked speed. Yawning, her eyelids drooped.

Soran nodded in agreement and gazed around the territory, a sad look replacing his apprehensive one. "As have I, although many of them seemed to have made their way from my dreams to the territory itself.” He replied, recalling that day so long ago that his youngest brother had been killed. He shook his head as if to clear the memories that threatened to push their way to the surface once more. Instead, the male focused on the surrounding darkness of the forest. Somewhere in a high pine tree, an owl hooted softly, followed by another. The feeble light from the crescent moon seemed to illuminate the grass in a bright white light. Despite that however, the delta felt uneasy being awake at such an hour.

Crimzen regained his balance, he chuckled at himself noticing his careless mistake. His ears twitched at the howling wind, it sent a small shiver through his body. His fur stood up for a small moment, he looked at female again.

"Did you wonder out here by yourself?" He asked.

“This memory is unbearable…and I am utterly terrified of all its contents.” Rune mumbled before he dashed away into the trees. The eyes he felt upon him seemed as if they were in the thousands and if he remained in one place how many more would fall upon him all giving off that look? Finally, as he slowed down and soon halted altogether Rune shook his head as if he had just disagreed to something recently said. "I wouldn't even know where to look anymore this place has changed so much over the course of time."

(Rune is going insane and that post was officially lame.)

Selene frowned slightly, she could see something was bothering him but she held back, knowing it was none of her business. She glanced around her warily. Every sound of the night made her jump, a nonexistent foe waiting to attack. Her ears flattened to her skull as Selene lowered her head she knew it was silly to allow the night to play tricks on her mind but it was hard to not give into them.

While he waited for her to reply, he narrowed his eyes faintly spotting a male across the forest. He titled his head, and sniffed, maybe smell could help him. It failed, the frost wind was flowing up his snout, causing him to sneeze, and his nose to wriggle, it seemed the wind was against him. Blowing the colorful leaves away, causing his vision to be even more blurred. Not to mention the scent riding away with the current, Crimzen grumbled and sat, the chilling leaves crunching beneath his weight.

Soran's ears snapped up as Rune fled from where they had gathered, for a moment he considered going after his brother, but whatever the contents of the nightmare was, the delta felt it may be too much to ask. Instead, he sighed and lowered himself to the ground beside Selene as exhaustion began setting in. He suppressed a yawn but laid his head on his creamy paws, eyes fixed on the dark forest that encased the territory.

Selene lowered herself slowly to the ground beside the male. She welcomed the added warmth, it was much better than the bare oak tree she had fallen asleep next to. There there was little protection and no warmth. She warily rested her head down on her paws though her mind wouldn't allow rest to come. She kept her ears perked and alert, her eyes scanning their surroundings in case anything popped up.
